Hi
Does anyone ofer any advice on how to clean the soot/carbon deposits off the stove/windhield. Is there anything I can soak it in that removes this and not damage the stove?
Thanks

I just scrubbed a bit with a softish dish washing sponge in plenty of hot water. You can take the entire stove apart too which helps.

Try using Coke. It gets rid of the carbon deposits a treat after a bit of a soak!

I use a soft dry cloth, usually a yellow duster. It has to be dismantled first, but doesn't require much in the way of elbow grease to get that dull lustre back.

Of course, it's never as gleamy as the ones in the shops. ):

Nothing beats soaking it in coke overnight, works for me every time.

I notice Andy Kirkpatrick also advises the cleaning in coke method - including pumping it through the stove! - in an article about getting your stove through airline check-ins here

Edit: Never tried it yet myself. Don't suppose it harms the soft pad that soaks up the priming fuel at all?
