Hi Does anyone ofer any advice on how to clean the soot/carbon deposits off the stove/windhield. Is there anything I can soak it in that removes this and not damage the stove? Thanks
I use a soft dry cloth, usually a yellow duster. It has to be dismantled first, but doesn't require much in the way of elbow grease to get that dull lustre back.
Of course, it's never as gleamy as the ones in the shops. ):
I notice Andy Kirkpatrick also advises the cleaning in coke method - including pumping it through the stove! - in an article about getting your stove through airline check-ins here
Edit: Never tried it yet myself. Don't suppose it harms the soft pad that soaks up the priming fuel at all?
