Did anyone spot the article in 'Trail'
which reported results of tests on the efficacy of various 'reproofing'products
and concluded that a cheap fabric conditioner (6p a treatment) was very nearly as effective as much costlier specialised products.Has anyone tried to replicate the test results?

They didn't really tell you how to do it did they? Typical Trail!

But advised that this only works if the garment is heat activated.

I expect that you have to wash it in and steam iron ( carefully )

Or perhaps you just stand out in the sun for a few hours wearing all of your fresh jasmine scented Goretex gear.

You may want to find somewhere fairly remote and secluded for this part of the process :)

Must admit soaked mine in comfort but not given them the heat treatment yet.
