Opinions on Deuter anybody?

I have a Deuter Futura 32 (I think!) and it's my favourite daysack yet. I've had a few before this that I've also liked but this is the best of them.

It's very comfortable to wear, not sweaty (has an 'airflow' type back), seems very tough and has all the features I could want. The only downside is that it's a little heavy, but I'm happy to make that sacrifice for all the other benefits.

Agreed. Very well made, should last years. A little heavy (Futura 32).

Well made, comfortable and well featured if a little pricy compared to the opposition. (Guide 30+)

Were always really well made and tough but often a few too many features and padding made them heavy. However looking at the latest lines that are being promoted recently they seem to have made seemless waterproof and lighter versions that look fantastic!

I just picked up the Futura 32 AC for £60 from Outside in Hathersage.

I hadn't intended to buy a new pack but I was looking and noticed the 'airflow' back, a simple but brilliant idea.

To date I've been using a 45L TNF sack and it's too big for day work, I end up loading it up to give it some shape and form and the Futura looked just right, I'll let you know once I've used it...

I recently looked at the futura range for my other half as she was after a sack with air flow, it looks a very good pack and i found it comfy, she also liked it but thought the back was a bit long on both the blokes and womens version so she ended up getting a berghuas freeflow II 30+8 (i think it is) Looks a nice pack too although i think i prefered the futura tho ;o)

My only experience of Deuter is my ACT Lite 40+10. Not strictly a day-sack I know. I've just used it for a week long trip on the Devon Coast to Coast/Two Moors Way and it took all my kit including a sleeping bag.
I have used it as a day sack and it works well for me especially in the colder weather when I need to carry more gear. I can easily get my Sleeka jacket in the bottom compartment with plenty of room in the main one for waterproofs and lunch etc. It only weighs 1600 gms (only 300 more than the Atmos 50 and £30 less!!) It cinches down well too. I find it a comfortable bag to carry/wear, with an easily adjustable back and the 'air' system worked well for me last week in the hot conditions.

I have one of their summer daysacks, a 23lt AC lite. Is now 5 yr old and nothing failed/worn out yet. Pretty light, well featured, but dont expect things inside to stay dry.
Also, I find it sits quite high, almost round my waist rather than on my hips, so try before you buy.

I switched from a Futura 32 to an Osprey Atmos 35, which IMHO is a more comfortable sac. Also lighter 1.l6kg Futura 32 1.49kg. Atmos is more expensive tho'

The new Speedlite's are fantastic. I've got a Speedlite 20 that I use for walking and running. Light as a feather as long as you don't overload it!

I have a virtually unused Futura 38AC as I found the lightly padded waiststrap knocked hell out of me. Reading some of the earlier comments, perhaps I had adjusted it wrong...... or could just be the wrong shape. No issues with the more padded Karrimor types.
