John B, the Resillience has a similar upper but is a lighter shoe with much less cushioning, you can feel everything through the sole. More of a running shoe, I think for full days of walking they might tire you out a bit. Im mainly thinking of them for my trip to the alps which will involve (as far as I remember) a bit of rocky/stony paths so im looking for a more comfortable shoe.

Cheers for that Ian, I'll try them on again maybe and have a think. Another consideration is that I'll be wearing them day in day out for my week long holiday so dont want to find that I get terrible athletes foot or anything in them (which is what happened in my salomon ProAmphibians, which are pretty plasticky.) Some of the other North Face shoes look ok and don't have membranes, though at the moment im really struggling to find anything I like that fits in my town.
