What are the differences between the F1 and the Pocket Rocket? Anything worth knowing?
Show/hide user stats
The F1 has a wider flame spread - the flames come out sideways, rather than concentrated vertically. This reduces the hot spot problem if you're ever doing more than boiling water. The pocket rocket pan supports fold up slightly easier.

Aye what you said there. Plus, the F1 has a quicker boil time and the MSR is better in the wind.
I've got the F1, my buddy has the pocket rocket and it's always matter of pride to see who has their brew first.
I've just done two weekends on a single 100 gas as well.
Marvellous bit of kit.

Guess I'll just go on price then, i'll only be boiling water and id only be swayed towards one or the other if one was more stable- im a bit cack-handed and knock stuff off a whisperlite all the time.

Thanks to you all. After reading carefully what has been said I have decided to go for the MSR Rocket... have now placed the order.

You can geta gas canister stand that fits onto your gas cartridge from primus. It greatly improves stability and does not weight much.
