Any recommendations for shorts?

Yes it's that time again, where you wonder what on earth did I do with all the shorts I had last year.

Any recommendations for ones with decent pockets (i.e. capacious and holding contents towards the sides of the thighs rather than on the front) and a proper belt loop waist, oh, and come in largish waist bands, decent groin space, and cope with ex-cyclist thighs?

Columbia do some nice ones with big pockets and zips and belt loops ,dry quick, light wieght all you need really ,cheap compared to some.

German army trousers for a fiver. Cut the legs off to desired length. Sorted! ;)

Have a look at the Baseline shorts from golite, they have side pockets. As for the waist band, it is pretty much average and comes with a standard webbing belt (no belt loops).

Should cope well with big thighs though as the fabric is stretchy but the shorts hang nice and loose and are generously sized.

Montane Mojo shorts.

Roomy, elascticated waist, sewn in belt, good freedom of movement, come in big sizes and have good pockets.

Were £35 last year but you can get them half price on t'internet. I've got some and they're fab.
