Product Description:
FlareSafe is an essential piece of kit for today's global traveller. Designed to keep you protected and prepared wherever you are in the world, Flaresafe is an innovative product which combines an optical smoke detector, a distress alarm and a powerful LED torch.

Working from just 2 x AA batteries (with a third lithium as a backup), this lightweight, water-resistant and shockproof device ensures you are carrying the most reliable personal safety device available. Once the 2 x AA batteries have run out, the third lithium battery takes over, meaning that the Flaresafe will still work and protect you. Then, when the lithium battery is running low on power, the advanced software in the unit will let you know!

Main Features:
Smoke Detector that is ideal for hostels, hotels, tents and boats
110dB SOS Alarm that has a piercing 110dB siren that can be heard up to 500 metres away for over 60 hours
LED Torch that is powered by four LEDs
Torch element boasts a focused 20 metre beam
SOS strobing function lasts for up to 100 hours
Supplied with 3 batteries and lanyard
Dimensions: 15.5 x 4.5 cm

And the price is ?

Or you could take this essential safety device, which I'll call the E.C.C. for short...

Product Description:
This is an essential piece of kit for today's global traveller. It has been designed to aid memory, improve awareness of the surrounding environment, and if used correctly can even help considerably with local languages. Basically, the innovative and extraordinarily flexible E.C.C. will help keep you ahead of the ever changing global travel game.

The E.C.C. is small and lightweight, (only 4mm across) and works on energy you produce yourself, so once activated it is free to run. (However, it should be noted that if not used regularly its effectiveness can become impaired.) The E.C.C. is formed predominantly by interconnecting myelinated axons, and comes in an attractive 'folded' design.

Main Features:
It will alert you to smoke, which is ideal when in hostels, hotels, tents, boats and brothels. It plays a key role in producing a piercing scream of alarm in case of emergencies that can be heard several miles away. And its use will enable you to interpret the world around you in low light conditions...

It will also help you walk, plan, think, move, react... and will even play a role in your use of web forums. In short there is no other product like it... and best of all the E.C.C. is totally FREE!

The E.C.C.: the Essential Cerebral Cortex.

Don't leave home without it!

Hmmm. You did all that to it and it still didn't end up turned off? How strange. I'd say you have a faulty one. ;-)
Oh she is faulty alright!

Advanced software? No wonder it costs £60, it's got a totally unnessecasry processor in it.

<I think a micropower comparator might be a better idea here...>

Anyone need a TBS detector?
