Been thinking of trying some, looked at the X-Socks ones and Sealskinz, probably more out there too, not sure which to go for. If you've used some I'd like to know which ones and how useful you've found them?

I've got the sealskinz light and they are good for those really wet days but can be a little cold and clammy, almost like wearing wet socks !

I've got a pair of the SS Mid-Length thermal (Merino) which I use for bad weather MTBing (along with winter MTB boots). Fantastic for biking in - they kept my feet warm 'n' dry during a winter ride in 5 to 6" of snow.

Oh, I have run x-country in them once for an adventure race in the New Forest. Would agree with ecco that my feet got a bit clammy but much drier than the boggy goo slopping around inside my running shoes.

My boots are non goretex Zamberlain and if wet weather is expected I wear Sealskinz with thin Bridgedale liners.

I like 'em, especially with a pair of old and very leaky boots. After a few uses they can get pinprick holes from grit and splinters, but even then it takes a few hours before the wet in the boot becomes a little damp on the foot. I'm talking about seriously wet conditions; in hot or dry weather they are awful, worse than a gtx boot lining. But the cut of the sock isn't bad - much better than the non-stretch Seals oversocks that were around few years ago.

I'm on the Sealskinz. Not too good for long distance, good for wading through water though, so I was thinking of getting a liner (or is that 'linner') to wear inside.

I've used them. And my feet sweated BADLY.

Was sloshign along in them...didn't enjoy them, didn't like them.

I'd recommend a very thin liner to try to improve things.
