Hi..

can anyone tell me where to find hill walking clothing for a size 20 lady?

we're looking for water proofs ( a good set)
trousers ( fast drying and wind resistant)
tops (fast drying and wind resistant)
jacket

(looking for all to be of a good quality and to last)

we've looked around alot of sites and stores though all appear to stop the sizes at about size 16.. even the mens sizes don't fit properly due to.. well.. use your imagination.. (mens clothing just doesn't have the right cut)

anyway.. we're looking out for anything and pref available either online or in Scotland,
and as usual.. the cheaper the better..

thanks all

I generally by my gear from the Craghoppers range:

http://www.craghoppers.com/CraghoppersSite/category/Womens/

Very comfy and reasonably priced. I've seen Craghopper branded stuff cheaper in other stores (TKMaxx for one), but few seem to stock the size I need :(

Still, I'd rather pay a bit extra for something that fits properly.

Hope that helps,

Caron

I put an informative post on here with lots of links for older threads with lots of info...it's vanished.

Ok haven't time to search them all again - just put "large" in the 'title' field of a forum search and all your answers will be revealed.

There was a thread a couple of weeks ago about made to measure. The sites were cioch.co.uk and slioch-direct.co.uk I think and are in Scotland(Skye perhaps). The difference being gore tex or P****o. The prices seemed reasonable for made to measure.

Highlander, I posted here also, and it vanished. I basically recommended Craghoppers. Decent kit reasonably priced. The Kiwi Trousers are a classic.

Maybe we've been blackballed, Ady. It happens every so often - I add a post; the post count is increased to the correct new number; then the post vanishes.

Mystery solved - this time.

The person started 2 virtually identical threads.

It's very confusing and half the answers will not be seen....

I'll bump it.

ah ha. Glad I haven't been blackballed!

Reggatta may also do stuff that will fit.
