Yes, yes Phil. Braces.

I know, i know...

I'm also looking at getting some long johns for the winter, so there's my street cred (if i had any in the first place) gone in one fell swoop...

Still, it beats builders bum and being cold in the tent in the winter :-))

Long johns. And braces. Wow. You are my style God! :-)

Could be the start of a new trend. Or thread!

But, you'll be glad to know, i'm not even entertaining the thought of 'red stockings' as Poucher the old make up artist of the hills used to call em.

Red stockings! AWESOME.

Cascadas are great but I also have an issue with sizing. I'm 5'4" and a bit and size 8/10 so on the small side but not unusually so.

I have the women's xs which don't come in different lengths so I had to shorten them. The only way to do this is at the top of the leg, because of the side zip and ankle cuff. I think the resulting seam just below my bum makes me look like I'm wearing a nappy, fortunately it's not noticeable under my jacket.
The elasticated waist is too tight. so I snipped the elastic and use a belt.

They are not the most stylish trousers I own, but in wet weather they are definitely the most comfortable and practical.

I only wear them on very wet days when the rain has set in and doesn't look like stopping.
Powerstretch leggings are very comfortable, even in fairly heavy rain as they stay warm and only seem to get damp.

Found some red stockings today. Boy was I tempted.

Phil, 34 waist and 36 inside leg? What are you? A 2 legged Giraffe?
;:)

Errmm, it's worse than that Macsen!

The 34 is the clothing size - actual measurement is 32 / 36 and - yes - I have had the word giraffe slung in my general direction (perhaps could be the next avatar!?).

For those that do not already know about this:

Black Cascada trousers:
http://www.aspirafund.co.uk/CascasaTrousers.htm
bit steep pricing though on his site!

I think RRP for Cascada trousers is £100 anyway.
And some of the proceeds go the to the Aspira fund.
And they are black ;)

But not available in Medium/Long. And it was ever thus.

I am another happy Cascada user.

Don't forget Cioch for made to measure Paramo-esque stuff, including trousers.

I note that Rohan have just come out with a pair of waterproof trousers that you wear all the time like Cascadas. Haven't tired them. Looked at them in the shop and they seemed similar in that they were a relatively thick thing.

I am not the shape for "tights" of any description - I would look like a pregnant Max Wall.

My friend, with whom I was walking on Sunday, had a very nice pair of Barber trousers which had some sort of mesh lining but I am told they are no longer made.

Sounds like it is going to be Cascada's. And yes, I know it could become a habit. Wish me luck.

And thanks for the help.
