I think the title says it all!

I've had a pair of Large Trews that i've split down the backside seam while scrambling (Arse crampin style) and i'm wondering if the New versions are smaller in the rump region than the older versions as i'm after a replacement. I've sewn them once, but they soon split again, so i think they not easy to fix (going to get them done by sewing machine at a seamstress next and cant be arsed to post them to be fixed.)

I;m in a position where i can get an older version for £35, but if it's the same fit, i'll go for an XL for £42. So is there a significant different in fit? I find the New version rather tight around the pockets too, so would the older version be a bit looser all around (I can only get that in the same Large fit, which is usually a perfect fit waist wise).

Make sure you get a pair with a diamond crutch, oops! Sorry, crotch. That way you shouldn't have the same problem.

Yep, a kevlar arse patch would have helped a lot!

Are you sure that it is the trews not your arse thats the problem? :)

"I find the New version rather tight around the pockets too..."

I've got friends like that.
