I bought a pair of Karakorum trousers from Cotswold Outdoor last year and used them for a winter skills course in the cairngorms in January.
They are a solidly built product and perfectly suited for winter climbing. Mine stood up to some crampon abuse. The Drilite fabric kept me dry even while sliding through wet snow practising ice axe arrests.
I run quite hot and found that I had to leave them off or undone for the walk in, but the full length zips run from both the top and the bottom so there are plenty of ventilation options.
I don't have any experience of the Latoks, but I assume that eVent would improve breathability.
