Hi there
I have had some great advice so far so here it goes.......
I am 6 foot 3 and after a decent sleeping bag for a 6 week trip to NZ south Island in March. Expecting the weather to be pretty wet so feel that I may struggle to keep a down bag dry and perhaps a synthetic would be better?
Any recomendations please for large 3 season lightweight bags ?

Many thanks

i beleive, marmot, the north face, moutain hardwear and ajungilak all make extra long versions of there bags, you may have to get a store to special order though as not many keep them in, all for synthetics
for down, i would say rab, as they do extra longs

How about the rab s3 bag? im 6foot 2 and fit in that fine, it has temp rating of -3 and weighs in at 1200g with a decent enough pack size.

I bought one for my gf just before xmas from a seller on ebay who has a shop in scotland, i think it was £50 brand new with tags and i think he still has some left.

am tempted to get one for my self but have no cash.

Alpkit sleeping bags are also available in 'long' versions: long enough for me in fact, and I'm 6ft 8ins tall.
Go Outdoors currently have the Mountain Equipment Firewalker II bag reduced from £70 to £35. There great for stuffing in the bottom of a Berghaus backpack and can be zipped together if you get a Left zip one and a Right zip one. Bargain!

One word for you to consider ALPKIT

Hi, I am also 6'3" tall and went through this last year and tried to find ones that were generally longer without being special orders. My 2 best options turned out to be the Rab Synthetic S3 / S7 (depending how cold you sleep) and the Softie Black on Black 3 for synthetic. Both are longer (I think most of the softie ranges are) than usual and come in at 228cm if I recall right. Both are fine for me a fairly tall 6'3" and I have used a Black on Black for many years but the Rab was more featured and posher when it came to replacement. Sadly Mountain Equipment did not fit me for length at all anymore.

Thanks for all your help
I have just brought the Rab S7 from Westerly peaks for £67 , seems a good deal
