My old Berghaus GTX overtrousers have long given up the ghost - any recommendations?

I'd probably use them from summer Munro bagging to Winter Grade 1 stuff.

Bit of a GTX man although have read that for overtrousers not necessarily the best.

I normally go with Train Recommended but they haven't done an overtrouser review for ages. Not true actaully they have but it was budget trousers. I reckon if you're going to use them and need them, then cost is not so much of an issue. Performance is the key for me.

If you are ever in the States, REI do a very nice pair of GTX trousers, reinforced with cordura and comfortable enough to be worn as the only pair of trousers in reasonable temperatures.

c$175 which is about £140. Not sure what mail order prices are.

Lowe Alpine Mountain Pants I think. They were about £180 but they've recently changed the range. I can thoroughly recommend Triple Point Ceramic though.

Look at the Atom trousers. They're probably very lightweight.
