Hi All,

Has anyone had any experience of the Berghaus Picos GTX boots. They're up for sale in a local shop for £50, I've tried them and they do fit well but can't find any reviews anywhere?? Any info would be of great help.

Many Thanks Doug

Hi Doug,
I bought a pair of these boots a couple of weeks ago too (for fifty quid also) and have to say they look like really good value. They were very comfy straight from the box, and have a good sole unit. I also like the big rand, the "cutaway toe", and the high cut ankle. They are pretty light also, and should be ideal for a rugged British summer boot, and also in autumn / wet winter days. The only downsides (if that's the right phrase) are that they are very wide (which suits me fine, so it's not a problem for me) so if you have narrow feet, the heel might lift slightly, and also the tongue/ankle takes a bit of getting used to as it presses right on the top of my ankle bone. Of course, you might not find this a problem.

I couldn't find any reviews on them either, nor even found mention in any catalogue, website, etc., but I reckon for fifty quid, you can't go far wrong can you?

Hi Geraint,

Yeah, no reviews anywhere!! My Salomons are nearing the end of the their life, the soles are so worn it's like walking on slicks, but they're are still so comfy wet grass tends to be a laugh!! I don't really want to stray from Salomon as I've had no probs with mine (4-5 Yrs quite hard use) but I suppose as you say, £50 is worth a go.

Thanks for your response Doug
