We have V2 and are thinking about upgrading to V3.

Does anyone know when V3 is likely to be replaced?

Also does V3 work well with both XP and Vista?

v3 was released in a july 05. it's been around a bit now and i would suspect a newer version must be in the pipeline somewhere as there have been no new v3 fixes for some time now. now that all maps should have the new access zones on them, which v3 maps won't have, i would suggest holding off until a v4 appears.

it works just fine with xp.

The Tracklogs website says that V3.11 works with Vista.

Parky - The latest V3 maps include the open access areas.

Moggy - They told me last June that a new beta was coming out soon (V3.12.1) but is hasn't appeared yet.

Jon,
V3.12 Beta was issued, I've been running it for a few months now. It didn't fix the very serious Package Import bug that was reported some time before, whereby it ignores a system error code and totally trashes the whole installation...

I've been running V3.12 since it came out. The bug I really want fixed is where descriptions entered for one track get applied to other tracks that are currently open.
It is strange that no new Beta has been released for all this time though. It does make you wonder what they are doing, perhaps we are about to get loads of new features.

thanks jon. have no plans for new maps for a while yet.
i purchased £300 of maps from tracklogs, which i wouldn't have if i had known a new version was coming out becuase they fell two weeks outside the "free" upgrade period. i was mightily miffed at having to shell out for the upgrades too.
if or when v4 comes out, i shall hold back on upgrading until it seems to work properly following the fiasco of the v3 release.

damn good programme mind so i have patience with them....but don't get me started on mm!!!

Hi all

This is a excerpt of the response from tracklogs support regarding whether V4 was on the radar....

"We are still developing v3 of the TrackLogs software and have more free v3 updates being planned for release, the next one in a few weeks time. There is no v4 around the corner. You'll also be pleased to know that we recently restructured our 1:50,000 prices so upgrades for 1:50,000 maps are even lower."

So we plan to go from tracklogs V2 to V3 on XP and hopefully no issue if we get round to upgrading XP to Vista
