Hey,

I need some help again haha :)

Basically, I will be going to Madagascar this summer (winter over there). Daytime temperatures in the capital will be 20C, and at night around 10C.

However for a few weeks we will be in the 'rainforest' camping (microclimate in itself so temp maybe different) where it will probably be quite humid - maybe someone could tell me more about the climate?

Then, for another week we will be trekking along 2500m ridge. (so it will prob be cool up there)

I def want a synthetic bag, probably 3 season sleeping bag, good resistant outer, full zip, that needs to be on the lighter side of the spectrum (1.8 kg= too much!)

I have a few in mind (snugpak, ME, Aztec ...) - but was wondering what you guys would suggest.

Thanks :D

The Rab S series are good synthetic bags. The temp rating is reasonable. Pack size a bit large tho.

Thumbs up for the rab s series - picked an s3 up for £50 for my gf its top notch!

snugpak also seem to get good write ups as do mountain equipments bags.

i have a mountain equipment firewalker UL that i use for summer camping it weighs about 800g and packs down pretty small, it can be picked up pretty cheap...i only paid £20 for mine!

How about the snugpak premier 3, or 4.

The pack size is reasonable as is the weight.

They cope with damp well and are pretty warm. I have the premier 4.

Snugpak softie chrysalis autumn. 3 season, comfort zone 0-10 degrees C, -10 low.

Synthetic fill, 1.4 kg, small pack size, 60 quid (possibly less). An excellent bag imo.

Yann, if your interested I am selling my Nanok Performance -5 sleeping bags on Ebay at the moment. Just type in Nanok and Performance and you'll find them. I've never used them and they both still even have the tags on still, I was about to use them but then Alpkit made the Pipedreams available. £50 each and Free postage.
