Same weight as the Fuera smock, the 'kangaroo' pocket is replaced by twin chest level side entry zippers, the (excellent) wired hood now has a velcro tab to stow it as a collar, same velcro cuffs, all cords are one-handed, good cut, usual sizing fits fine.
Great simple windproof that stows fairly small - the orange colour quite attractive and pretty bright.

While I'm at it....
Paramo Katmai shirt.

I usually use Craghopper shirts but the tiny pockets are annoying - Katmai shirt is much better equiped with two chest bellows pockets, secure inner zipped pocket and a Map pocket that is nearly A4 in size (great), the cuffs are not buttoned but velcro like the windproofs, has the usual Paramo bum covering cut - very nice.

Another £100 spent but well worth it.
chris...I'm so with you on the orange!!!!!

i see paramo have redesigned their site so you can't just look at a catalogue of products.

but on another note, what's the finish like on the katmai shirt chris? i have a paramo shirt and the finish is dreadful with the seams around the zip side pocket being rouched up. if they've improved it i'll get more shirts as i rather like the fabric.

A lot of thought seems to have gone into the Katmai shirt - every Paramo product I've bought (many) irritates me in some minor way - the Katmai shirt is the first one that doesn't.
The inside is nice & slippery, the map pocket zipper is subtley hidden, the other pockets are copius - I was going to say I can't fault it but through a magnifying glass I've just noticed that the collar button is only stitched through two of the four holes and is about to fall off.

Don't know why anyone bothers with buttons any more - all my base layers have zipped fronts.

I buy Paramo (despite the niggles) because their gear is just so comfortable to wear - even if I over dress on a warm day I don't end up a soggy sweaty mess - what does annoy me about them is their tendency to be stupid about pockets - jacket A has perfect pockets, jacket B has the same pockets but in mirror image, the Peak jacket has chest level hand warmers but I'm sure most people would be happier with waist level pockets.
The one-size-fits-all balaclava DOES NOT FIT everyone....grrrrr

The Paramo Fuera Peak windproof is a bit heavier than the smock. My 'large' weighs 360g, the spec for the smock is 290g.

One slight niggle is that if you pull the sleeves up above the elbow, and then try to secure them with the velcro cuff, where you want to attach it falls between the two bits of velcro. This happens on the long sleved shirts as well. It would be much better to use one longer piece of velcro.

Katmai shirt.
Out on Bodmin moor today I also found the wrist velcro doesn't work on your bicep - silly error.
Apart from that and the improperly sewn button the the shirt is great - very comfortable and at I've got somewhere to put...
Phone, GPSr, Map, MP3, Notebook, Camera, Fags, Keys...did I mention the pockets are good :)
