Perhaps I'm along in finding these "euro"-style boots quite attractive, but I'm interested in anyone's experiences with them?
Have they managed to survive long term hill-walking?
Has the welding coped?

Thanks in advance! :-)

*bump*
Anyone have any experience of these boots, please...?

Hi, know it is a long time since you posted this but in case you are still interested (or anyone else looking is)...

I have these boots, had them for 18 months and thought them great, found them v comfy. however then my sole decided to fall apart. altho I have not seen this happen to any other pairs (and I work in a gear shop) so I think mine were just faulty, and I have been refunded by salomon and now looking for another pair, as they are the only thing I find comfy... but of course it depends on what is good for your feet

Really disappointed by my pair. Bought them just over a year ago but had continued to use a worn out 10yr old pair of goretex salomon boots until recently.

Only worn the Revos about 4 or 5 times and althogh the comfort is fantastic the waterproof qualities are virtually non-existent (but not due to water getting in above the top of the boot). As I walk along in them the make a lovely squishing noise and water and air issue out of the boot between the inner and the soles.

Anyone got a contact address for complaints to salomon as no luck finding anything on their website (although appreciate I may be being a bit thick here..)

It's a shame as I've loved every other piece of Salomon footwear I've had (with the exception of the Trail comp2(?) shoes and their rubbish fragile lacing system that broke with less than 50 miles worth of running)

cheers

Mark

Yeah, bought a pair some time after posting the message.

Nice and comfy, but after walking around on Skye they started to leak a little and have got progressively worse...

Interesting coments, that mirror my experiences!

Had them for a year, used them a lot, no real leak issues, then took them to Npal for a trek in Langtang in April. Toward the end of trek noiced that both heels had split accross the heel in the tread. Not somehere you would expect to se that type of failure.

looked on the Salomon web site, no obvious place to email, but sent something to marketing in France - no reply.

Then took them back to Nevisport in York, where purchased, expecting poor customer service ....., surprisingly no problem, ofered to wxchange them, but didnt have my size, so full cash refund.... not bad for a years use I did notice that the sole unit design had ben changed, so maybe a fault.

Pity really as I did like the boot, would I buy again.... based on experience probably not.

Take them back to where you purchased them.

Thanks guys.

Ooops was in the Lakes this weken so could have easily gone back to the shop

Guess it's a good excuse for another trip to the lakes...

Yes, a friend of mine has these same boots. He's got a few hundred miles out of each pair (he's on, I think, his third pair) before they've split along a seem (or whatever it is they join the boot with) and leaked accordingly. He got each boot replaced for a new equivalent, however, no questions asked, by returning to the place of manufacture.

Salomon gear tends to have pretty poor quality control in my experience - I have a pair of trail running shoes and the sole has almost come away on one shoe, yet is entirely intact on the other. Some dodgy glueing...

Re Salomon footwear ive had a couple of pairs of their footwear and they have all split across the sole .Gave up in the end and went for merrell and they have been ok.

Got a credit from shop when i took the salomon back.
