Hi everybody,
I just bought my second Coleman lamp in 10 years Having been extremely happy with the first I am somewhat dissapointed in the second. It's a Coleman Northstar Dual Fuel Camping Lantern
and the problem is that the turnbutton to turn up and down the light seems to get harder and harder to turn. Up to the point that it almost gets stuck. Since it is just a plastic button the inside will get worn down very quickly I just took the whole lot apart and greased it al with sewing machine oil At first it looked like it worked but after 10 minutes is was back as before I " fixed" it. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Sounds like you have a faulty lamp. I've been using coleman dual-fuel (not the Northstar) for 2 years now. Light adjustment is smooth and easy and it's never stuck at all. I'd take it back.

I agree with the later, i have this lantern, it is  superior in quality , it comes with a 5 year warranty and if i had any problems at all , i would just take it back, and get it replaced , at the very worst have  a coleman dealer reapair it, but the would rather give you a new one and make you happy from  wht i know.  i have lots of coleman stuff and some of the lanterns are 30 years plus and still work,
