Hey im looking at getting a new outer shell jacket but am not sure which to go for, i have norrowed it down to the rab Latok winter 07 model and the ME Changabang! Does any body have any opinions on either jacket, or even know when the new model of the Latok comes out in the shops?

thanks

Tower Ridge have the new Latok listed for sale. Only in the grey and black though, I like the look of the fancy colours. They and OneOutdoors have some other new Rab stuff too.

The Latok is longer and is made of eVent, so unless the ME is a better fit I'd go for the Rab.

Aye, my outdoor wardrobe is eyewateringly bright

One thing about the new hood on the Latok, it's the same as the one on the Super Dru. It's a great hood, but not as big and all-encompassing as the old one, the one that's on the Latok Alpine that's still in the shops. The old one has an untaped seam underneath the drawcord that goes around the face which if you're dead unlucky can feed water straight down to your neck in torrential rain. But still, it's a great hood and I'm happy in it.

Anyone know the weight of the Changabang minus the snow skirt, which is not really necessary in Scotland most of the time.

Who wants ME or Rab, Haglofs Spitz is the way forward, amazing cut & weight ...

Ive just had the changabang for one month and the hood strap burst its stitches, when the replacement comes i will be checking it for faults.
