Hi Folks,

Ref' Snugpak Ant RE sleeping bag

I've been looking to buy this bag for Jo, as she sleeps cold in the winter and wants a centre zipped bag, can't find a stockist anywhere.

Any of you folks know where i can get hold of one. She doesn't want the olive green military issue one though.

Drew

I can verify that the snugpak bags are very good!  I havn't tried the RE but have 3 of the premier 4's which are fine all year round in the mountains in uk.  Mine has kept me comfortable when my bacon and water has frozen solid inside the tent!  My wife has never complained of being cold even in autumn camping up high in the mountains etc.

The premier construction is different from the other bags and they are made in the UK, not sure about the RE.

The RE is a legend. Try 'em all, down, fleece liners, USMC Sleep system, then after you've tossed away a fortune, flog 'em on ebay and buy an RE.

Tough as old boots and warm as toast. Centre zip, perfect for hammocks and 'get up in a hurry moments'.

After a long slog, a delectable boil in the bag and a brew, the lining of the RE and the instant warm is like being in bed at home. And the warm last til morning.

Go on, you know it's right.

I think if he hasn't made up his mind after 4 years, your advice probably won't help

Always a good idea to check the posting date on forums!

On the bright side, plenty of time to test it and come to a valid conclusion - so is it really as warm as it claims to be? And does it really pack down to 30x25cm? Those numbers don't add up to me.
