I think that Alpkit only sell direct and that their business model does not involve any other retailer.

Thanks John

Mailed Alpkit earlier and they said they had a few medium left so order placed and await delivery of it..cant bloody wait....

thanks again

Hey Diddy, how did you get on with the fantom? I got a medium last week aswell after the website said none left but Nick phnd me to say one had come back in. I got em to send it and typically after all that hassle it was to small!! They exchanged it for a large quick enuff tho.

Im lovin my new jacket, cant wait till its really cold enuff tho. The red had put me off for a while (normally only wear blue or black etc) but its grown on me.

Hi Sandy

Got jacket within 24hrs of ordering and its a great fit and like youself cant wait to try it out.Im off to Scotland on the 28th of this month and i think i might be needing it as its getting colder where i live now so just in time if you ask me..

looks a great bit of kit and great colour too.

need to get hold of a storage bag for it so i can store in my rucksack when im carrying it do you know of a bag to fit yours??

Strange that although they only advertise XL they still have other sizes available??would have saved me buying the haglofs barrier jacket £80 the week before but hey a guy can never have to many jackets/too much kit.but now its just carrying it all...

cheers Sandy let us no how you get on useing yours will ya..

On their website, I notice in the detailed images of the jacket they've got it stuffed into the A4 size appollo bag and say it can be compressed further! the orange one I think. I got the combo pack of these bags a while ago and use the orange one for keeping my lunch together in my daysac. Im just gonna go try fit it in just now myself but seeing as its down I think Id rather a full on dry-bag of sorts.

Where you off to up here in scotland? Im looking at heading up towards Kinlochleven on the 1st,2nd and 3rd of Oct. Tempted by Sgurr Eilde Mor, Binnein Beag and Binnein Mor.

Ok I just tried it into various bags...............

It fits quite easily into the A4 appollo bag but as I said Id prefer a full on dry-bag

Just fits into an outdoor designs airstream bag X-small, I could only really roll the top one and a half to two times though. Maybe the next size up?

Fits quite well into the small exped dry-bag (yellow) with plenty to roll up. I think an airstream sac would be better though as you can squeeze more air out.

I think Ill use the exped one for now untill I can get my hands on a small airstream sac.

Hope this helps

sandy

<edit> Just a thought yours is a Med so It might fit a little better than mine into the xs airstream?

Thanks for that Sandy great help will defo try those bag options and sizes..but like you say its down and it dont like water so a a full on dry bag is the way to go..

We are off too Loch Etive for a wildcamp Friday the 28th and then up Stob Deag saturday, then round to Fort william glen nevis campsite for saturday night sunday monay to tackle the Ben on the CMD route weather permitting that is,me and a few other OMers Ray saunders,Jonno, and we meeting a few on the campsite..

I am a very cold person so i wont be waiting for the full on winter to kick in i will be popping my new Fantom on around camp and campsite..he he..

and thanks again...shame the dates we are up there dont overlap you could have met up with a few of us....

Och well Id be arriving as you're leaving,  another time maybe. Ive still yet to try a wild camp, I think Id probably have to upgrade some of my gear though. Also for my first wildcamp I'd probably prefer summer, being a big wuss and all that

I normally run quite hot so probably wont need the fantom on the hill just yet but deffo around camp. (and to and from the pub)

Sandy.
