could anyone tell me if grivel 2f crampons will work ok with scarpa cumbre boots. a recent purchase and i don't want to shell out for a new pair of g12s at moment (tight sod)

in theory they will fit and not fall off, you may find the inside points in the middle stick out the side of the boot a bit, there will be better fitting crampons, but if thats what you have then adjust them up, fix them on, clout them about a few times to make sure they dont fall off and away you go, i have put 2F's on quite a few different boots, and they have never fallen off

as always with 2F's, use antiballing plates, if you dont have any, then plastic milk bottle cut to fit and strapped with gaffa tape works,

if you want a better fitting crampon then it will probably be g12 or 14 with asymetric bar

thanks for that gearboy.

i know they are not perfect, maybe i should just shell out and buy a new pair. just being tight a suppose. they work ok with my asolo boots. just seeing if anyone has any experience with the two together

i might be cursing myself if i am stuck halfway up a gully in coire sneachda

I agree, will also depend on your size. I've got a pair of 46s and struggle to get a good crampon fit with them being so long, less of a problem if you've got smaller feet.

G14s with assymetric bar makes for a decent fit.
