Ok. In the review which Jon did on this product, there are two pictures. Am I right in thinking that the lower picture where there is a heel clip is for a B2 boot?

It appears so from the text, but I can't be sure.

Grivel G10 with all options, i.e. step in, heel clip and strap on, you just need to find a retailler that has them...

Yeah, there are two versions of the crampon, one with a heel clip and one without.

Grivel have a pic of one with a toe bail too.

There appear from the website to be 5 versions!

I'm pretty sure it's C2. It's got yellow plastic thing on front to thread nylon things through, and big yellow clip at back which makes putting on, or taking off really quick 'n' easy.

I wouldn't bother with a toe bail, the advantage of the nylon cradle type fixing is you can kick s*** out of your boots and it won't affect the locating groove for the toe bail of the crampon. Otherwise, with extended use, you tend to wear it down from kicking in and, eventually, the bail will no longer stay in place. Takes a fair bit of wear but an issue for guides / instructors etc.

I guess by bail you mean wire which goes across the groove on the front of the boots? Well the clip clips down onto the groove at the back, but then I don't think I'm going to do enough (short term) to destroy anything!

I don't think you'll be kicking THAT many steps in with your heel mate!!

Also I reckon the groove for the bail is easier to damage to the extent that Jon mentions than the heel section (which is going to be thicker/deeper and depending on the boots made out of a harder material).

After less than a year of scrambling, bimbling and hard wear, the front locating groove on my SLs went completely.
Thankfully I don't need it for the crampons I use.

Ah yes, the to bail slot on the SL is cosmetic, the boot isn't made for taking C3 crampons so there'll be no reason to use it.
