CP we'll start her off with a 4kg base weight and see how she gets on!!

She does have an advantage in that her food is either all dehydrated, or she's making mum carry it.

Very good.  She can carry her own steriliser as well then if she is going to cheat.

Thanks for all the responses - lots of choices

I am thin with a small waist so I think the MHW are out and unfortunately that means captain paranoia's ACG Schoeller DSE trousers are also out.

I wonder if the comment about Rab not being as weather-resistant as Montane Terra is still true? As well as now having zipped pockets they do have a DWR treatment so I would think they should be OK with light rain?

Only one vote for Haglofs Rabot Fjell which I am surprised given the recent review:

The only thing that is putting me off these is the weight but I guess if I never take then off it will be ok. Anyone else got any opinions on these?

As for Schoeller fabric I have found some Mammut base jump pants which seem quite good but expensive - Are these worth the extra?

Jon, i think you'll find the haglofs are a lot more expensive than the montanes.

I was wrong Jon, montanes £52 at winwood outdoor,    haglofs £59 at outside.co.uk
