I didn't use the curry powder myself Mark, but I do remember my "oppo" adding a tablespoon (yes) of garlic paste to a meal in an OP once - you can imagine how popular he was !!!!

Another point to remember people is that these meals are also designed to be eaten cold as well as hot.

If you can get hold of 'em - use 'em, just don't pay extortionate prices for the privelege.

I knew of one place to buy them on the net last year, they haven't got any at the moment. If I can track down a new supplier I'll post it here for you folks!

I still have a few packets from my last issue in the garage, stored away and used as emergency food for backpacks/wildcamps.

They are ideal for that mind you.

That supplier would be nice atm, esp if they can get the veggie menus.

The modern stuff is made by Wayfarer and is the same stuff as you buy in Cotswold, F&T etc. The 24 hours packs have been found to contain too many calories for certain situations so a new type of rat pack called training rations was introduced, this consists of dehydrated rations and is not overly popular.
