i have recently purchased some north face overtrousers, cant think of the model at the moment but very similiar to stratosphere with full leg side zips and braces. I bpught them expexting to be dry in all but the most horrendous rain yet i find in bad weather the fly zip leaks? does any one else have this problem? any tips on what i can do?

thanks

danny

Have the same problem with my Berghaus Alpine pants too,the leg zips are fine but the bit where you pee from seems to let in water to the groin area.

The only solution i have is i have a 3/4 length jacket (Berghaus Mera Peak)and when its gonna be raining i tend to take that (jacket goes down past the fly)and when its a good forcast i opt for my shorter Haglofs Spitz jacket.

But if anybody has a good tip to stop this i too am interested!!

my rab latok jacket is ok without a rucksack but as soon as i tighten the waist belt it rides up a little, i would have thought that if they could manage to make a great bif zip down the lenght of the leg waterproof then surely a little zip in the groin are should be easy!

Well, I guess it's just one of the many disadvantages of being a bloke

Couldnt agree more, but as i have come to believe is that my pants are Alpine pants and not really designed for British mountain weather(p*ssing down all the time)and more for the sunny snowy Apine regions of the world.

I know they market and sell these products over here but i am guessing they are more suited to Snowy sunny climates like the Alps etc.

I would be more suited with these these!! but i chose these!!

But thats just my opinion!!
