I see from the Ellis Brigham catalogue that dropped onto the doormat this morning with Trail that TNF have a mid Hedgehog. No idea if it's a new thing, but I haven't seen it before. I know the Hedgehogs were quite popular when they first came out - has anyone got any mids, and if so, what are thy like?

cheers

Don't have the mids but I did have two pairs of shoes and they both went back because they leaked.

I've just used a pair of the shoes the other day for the first time, they were excellent! I practically hopped, skipped and jumped up the hills..................coming soon .......one well used pair of Brasher hillmasters on a well known auction site!

Well they can't be that new a thing - blacks in Manchester are selling them at about half price at the moment. Just got myself a pair to destroy.

They've not discounted the normal hedgehogs mind. Apparently this was simply down to everyone buying the non mid version. Makes for on odd pricing structure though

I think the mids have a higher heel section.

I've just tracked down a replacement pair of the original style as they did everything asked of them

I've recently got a pair of the mids Kate.  I have used them only a few times so far, when wild camping in the Beacons and on Dartmoor.  They have performed really well and are so light compared to my Meindl Borneos, almost 1kg lighter in fact.  Grip is good too, so far I can't fault them.

It's a new experience for me walking without a traditional leather boot but now I have got used to the lighter weight I think I'll always use lightweight whenever possible.
