Hi folks,

I came across some GoLite Sundragon shoes at a reasonable price but couldn't find much about them on the net. Generally seem to be a good light weight trail running shoe but the caveat is that they wear down quickly.

So I was looking for some good old OMer feedback. Especially interested to know how much you paid (if bought in Europe) and to know whether you think they'd be suitable for a heavy-ish neutral runner?

Chris Townsend gave them quite a good review in TGO.

Thanks Mike - do you happen to remember the RRP?

I just flicked through my copy of aprils TGO, it was the Golite trail fly shoes that Chris Townsend reviewed in the "From Friedrichshafen to the field" article. The price in the article is £80

I was nearly right! If you buy them from prolitegear in the US and enter code GLF20 at checkout, you'll get 20% discount. They cost $99 so if the shipping is reasonable, it might be a bargain?

My local Timberland outlet are selling Go-lite shoes that look suspiciously like that for £30, just in different colours.

That's certainly possible since the Golite shoes are made by Timberland. But be quick because Timberland will drop the whole Golite footwear line (and Mion) from fall 2008.

Well, I bought a pair from the Bicester Timberland outlet for £19.99. They feel unusual and I have my reservations about how they'll perform, but for that price I am not too fussed. I'll be back with a review once I have destroyed them

Just bought me a pair at my local Timby outlet. Look lurvly but I have suspicions regarding their durability but to quote John 'but for that price I am not too fussed'. They'll copme in handy for the odd car camp to wear around camp

Oh, I hope to get more out of them than that, Monkey48. I reckon they'd be worth a try for some trail running & lightweight hiking. I just don't expect the soles to last very long.

Well the rubber soles apparantly separate from the plastic base quite easily after not much use from the reviews I  read. Having saif that I took mine back to the outlet 2 days before my money back guarantee was going to run out
