Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had tried the new Paramo shop in London? Is it any good? Does anyone have any opinions?

Yes, great shop. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff and carry pretty much the whole paramo offering, including a few specials, if that's what you're after.
Just say Parky sent me.

lol mike.

erm.....wandered in there on saturday to get some insect repellant...and bought a shirt too - well, the Angel said i was buying it because she liked it (black! yuch!) apparently on my previous visit i had sucessfully sold something to chap in there..i don't remember....

 anyways, back to the op.

yep, it's a good shop for taking a browse through their complete range of stuff and trying things on. no discounts so don't ask. you may have trouble escaping without buying something though....or is that just me.

Parky?

Perhaps you can explain to me why the list price of an Aspira smock is £25 more than an Aspira jacket.

it has better pockets and is voluminous in the extreme. perhaps i'll suggest they supply guys and pegs with it. the jackets pockets next to the zip ain't waterproof i.e. they don't have the liner in them.

some new (possibly) and interesting colours (shudders) too, if you like that sort of thing.

on another note, i went into the rohan shop opposite and the sizes have changed. i now need a small shirt rather than a medium...or i'm just shrinking.

Yeh tried the shop, great range of stock, really good friendly staff. Shame they don't make a summer weight waterproof. I am convinced that this is what I need for autumn/winter walking though.

Anybody got a thought on my round up of my favourite outware choices, Alta II, Aspira Smock, Velez Adv.?

Velez Adventure gets my vote,a closer fit and good ventilation.

If you are a member of the Ramblers i believe there is a 10% discount

i assume you tried them all on. if so, surely the difference in size between the aspira smock and the velez would clinch it? unless they've changed the aspira size as they now have different colours. or made the velez as voluminous......

i was forced into the shop this (last?) evening. i managed to escape only buying two shirts.

two charning young ladies serving. had a fascinating discussion about wispa's being discontinued and yorkie bars no longer being "for men only". talk is not always about boring old outdoors stuff......

Nice staff. I've been in a couple of times and have spent half an hour talking about walking each time. Worth a visit.
