If you've 'winter mountaineering' on the brain then see how far you'll realistically push it, as you don't want a pair of SLs (3-4 season) if you've a plan of going ice climbing soon. Having said that, don't get boots for Everest if you're sticking to the Lakes. I've got Grivel G12's and love them, and a pair of Raichle 80 Degrees with them (4+ season, B3) and got them having decided that I was going to try and get into the ice climbing and knew I couldn't justify owning two pairs of winter boots.
