Using a different make of hydration tube compared to the bladder?

Does anyone know if hydration tubes are all the same diameter/design?

I am asking this because I would like to use a camelbak tube and valve on my source widepak bladder by buying the Camelbak Tubing Extender - Is this possible?

Note: I previously got advice on here that it was possible (indeed "easy") to remove the complete bite value section from my tubing but despite soaking, freezing, pulling etc etc I can not move the stiff orange plastic thing that seems to be welded in the tube once I take the bite valve mechanism out. Hence, I now plan to replace the whole tube.

They're not all the same diameter, no, but a Camelbak tube fits the Source bladder fine. You could always cut the Source tube with a sharp knife just behind the existing bite valve and fit the Camelbak bite valve I'd have thought. If you need to make the tube a little more stretchy, just soak in hot water and it'll soften up a little.
