 interested in getting one of these, general view seems to be that they are very comfy compared to a thermarest which is tempting but how comfortable are they in terms of squishiness? my experience of foam mats is that they have very little give and are therefor not very comfortable.

 Not tried one of these but they look an interesting bit of gear and so very light at only just over a 100g.The only place I know of that sells them in the UK is Winwood Outdoor in Keswick but they had none in stock when I visited the shop last Friday.They told me that they had some more on order but were not sure when they would be received.

 A nightlight that you can sleep on? Now that is a novelty.

 I'm not sure if you mean the 3/4 length, or the torso pad. I've had the Torso pad for 2 years or so. It is more comfortable for me than any other foam pad i've tried. It has been used on several long backpacks and shorter trips, and is starting to wear. Not bad for the hard use i've given it. It also makes a 'virtual' frame for my frameless backpack.

I have an Outwell foam mat that is 130g for a full length mat. Cut it down and I reckon for £4 (or free in my case) it should be a cheaper alternative that should be as light. So cheap you could experiment with cutting it down to fit your body when you sleep, even less weight and make a mistake buy a new one. Can you score foam mats to enable easy folding with less bulk? If it works you could use the inside of the pack against your back for padding like these nightlight pads. Outdoor Warehouse in Windermere do some pads that fold up to use as padding in SUL packs as well as Winwoods. Not sure of the brand, probably the GOlite ones.

The website also said that they were in stock when I visited the shop last Friday but they were most definately not in stock!I am off to Keswick again tomorrow and have just phoned the store for an update but they have still not got them in.I have asked them to update their website asap.

 The egg crate pattern makes them very comfortable, and I now prefer to use the GG pads over my ThermaRest Prolite. Of course your experience may differ, so I encourage you to try it on an overnight trip to see if it works for you.

 I second rogerb's view. I find my 3/4 length nightlight more comfie than my thermarest ultralight. They're more squishy than a normal foam mat, and you can use them either way up & see what's more comfortable.

 I've been using the Nightlight recently. It works in the sense thy you can sleep on your side. The egg box stuff will compress and one of the scored sections of mine is detatching itslef from the rest of the mat.
Still, it is very light and cheap.

cheers everyone- i was thinking of the 3/4. i do like sleeping on my side and was interested in that side of the equation rather than purely the lightness. i always roll my prolite in a big tube to create a frame for my pack so it should take up about the same room in my pack i figure.
