Some years ago in Finland's national newspaper 'Helsingin Sanomat' every week there was more about a crappy old car (Mazda 323) which someone had bought for something like 200 Pounds, where they went in it, how much the repairs cost, how it was struggling along, was it a bargain for a 'Summer car' and such like.....the newspaper seemed to be sponsoring its adventures and it made interesting reading (to me, at least, the owner - then - of a Mazda 323).

...the thought came to me, that someone here could do the same for that unusual "Ghost Akto" on Ebay whose auction time is almost up. Like a monthly article on Outdoorsmagic: their experiences with the tent, where it has been, photos of it in exciting locations. It could even be passed around 'regular members' of OM (sold on, of course) providing they keep going with the articles.

Would Chris Townsend like to take it around the Munros & Tops, for instance?!

This Akto could be tested to 'the bitter end'.......!???!

or Jon Doran could take gnome on holiday and send a few pictures back (if he gets paid enough to have holidays that is)

Hang on just a mo! That gnome of Zurich is a wanted Nazi war criminal isn't he!After all, "Zurich is the centre of the German-speaking part of Switzerland." An ideal hiding place! Quick, someone ring the Simon Wiesenthal Association Centre! He looks like he's hiding out where there's rice paddies, there in the picture background, so........could be a rice growing country someplace then!

Hey! A great book yeah, but you don't actually think he would really want to put himself through all of that record-breaking hardship again in a hurry, do you?
