I have one of these Caghoppers things, but have now put it out to pasture by replacing it with the nice, more funky, better organised Snugpac ones.
The Snugpak one does look pretty good Trevor.
Aarn Bodypack rucksacks look interesting too with the storage pouches on the front straps, but they seem hard to get hold of and come in bright colours (not too keen).
Lots of folks don't like the natural greens and browns or more eathy colours that most bushcraft and ex army folks tend to prefer wearing outdoors, for sure. It almost seems to be that these days the less obtrusive colours in but a few instances are thrown in as a mere token for us folks, within a range comprised predominantly of bright garish colours. Not really my cup of tea either, bright colours in outdoors kit, generally speaking!
Here.Already done there Neil, there is a thread on that item complete with links there too. Best price I think was from Heinnie.com, with free postage too there.

Thank you,much appreciated.
I have gone for the OMM. I like their kit,the bottle is more than handy and there are lots of useful features. In the end, these swung it for me. Looking forward now to using it.
The OMM Ultra waist pouch does fit on the front, you tuck its waist belt into the tunnel pocket. You can also put your rucksack waist belt though the same pocket or use the attchment points. I've just been out with it and it's rather nice.
I've got the MLD stuff that Mike mentions, the bottle pocket in particular is very good, and I like the wee rucksack harness pouch. Their chest pouch is a bit rubbish though.
What didn't you like about the chest pouch PTC? I just got one and went for a nice walk on the South Downs yesterday and found it really useful and comfortable. As I wear a Montane Lightspeed I have a lack of pockets so stuffing gloves and hat into it when not needed for 5 mins is perfect, as well as some of the mound of Xmas choccies and fudge, camara, glasses case, mp3 player.
I also really like that when walking back through town you can easily just clip it to the back of the pack (villain) so the local numpties don't point and stare too much (god bless the Worthing Elite....)
I've not used a waist pouch (not getting into the fannypouch/bum bag debate) so I don't know the pro's and cons to compare it with, but am begining to play with the idea.
I wear an Extreme Smock, until April (or around that time),once this goes I wear a Litespeed, too. Having got used to the cavernous pouch on the smock,I'll really miss it 'on the move',hence going for the Waist Pouch. It will also come in handy for shorter evening dog walks, accomodating waterproofs, camera etc. etc, and a decent sized drinks bottle.
Lovely part of the world you live, btw. I've had some great summer walks on The Downs. The enjoyment of these has prompted us to sort out a week long visit to the IOW,next year.
I received my OMM Waist Pouch,yesterday. I've worn it twice,now ( 2 x 6 mile walks),so far-so excellent. I'm very impressed with it. Well featured,well made and 'clever'.
