http://www.backpacker.com/october_2001_skills_rain_dry_tips/gear/2648?page=1Rainy Day Skills here worth reading too maybe. It emphasises the obvious importance here of controlling any and all water on damp kit etc inside of the tent, as that can add to condensation problems to in such a small tent inner space. Included in this is of course the desirability of doing ones cooking or boiling water outside of the tent, as much as is possible.

I ahd intended to do 5 nights in the lakes in a Coleman raid single skin. After talking to people at home and on here I bit the bullet and bought a laser comp. Very comfy and dry on a very mixed week weather wise. I think the raid would have been miserable looking back. All taht wet gear, cooking, breathing...... Have to say yhe laser was superb, often left the outside door open all night when it wasn't raining, very little condensation.

The last 2 days I had loads of wet kit but still managed a warm, dry and cosy night.

thanks for the effort ,time and searching trevor... much appreciated, I did think about leaving the door pitched open but the way the rain was that would be a little risky [in this great summer]

that laser comp looks like the tent I should have got but I let the price compromise my decision ...

Most of these lightweight tents are silly money for what you get, the laser comp is made in the far east, so how much can it cost to make? I paid 180 I think. In Primark that would be

£ 6.00!

But there is not much else out there cheaper.

Only slight grumble with the laser is the noisy material. It is quite 'brittle' to the touch and tends to make a lot of noise on windy nights. got used to it but those gusts in the middle of the night woke me up. I think you can tension it better but I could never be bothered
