I've used them in Norway and they kept me warm when it was -17 degrees outside. I love their non-itchy feel.

Used CF t-shirt; boxers and socks for last few months and comment is: excellent too! Covered a few hundred miles in them so far. Also have a range of Icebreaker too and its right up there with it. Especially the price! Thanks to those recommending merino/possum stuff, as will be ordering asap.

Good idea that It really is absurdly warm for the weight. I wonder where the new stuff their website is hinting at has got to. If anyone is intrigued about where the possum fur comes from, they seem to be a controlled invasive species in NZ so the fur is a byproduct of efforts to control/eventually eliminate them.

I was given some Chocolate fish socks 2 years and they've been great! They're still going good now.

I am Reena - member of the Commonwealth expedition to Antarctica. for our training in Norway and New Zealand we used Chocolate fish thermals and i feel that they kept me warm and dry. their beanies are really soft and cosy besides being stylish. The socks are nice and thick and warm

Socks are the most comfortable I've worn (Merinowalk).

String vests add a lot of warmth but make sure they are not cotton if you're exerting yourself as it will hold moisture.. you can get some polypropylene ones but they are expensive.

I have a pair of their Thermadry fingerless gloves, best fingerless I have ever had,btw according to CF website they were the makers of Icebreaker merino clothing before latter moved their production to China

I've used the merino base layers, socks, hats, underpants, basically everything that chocolate fish make. The first time I tried the merino base layers was on an expedition to the Magnetic North Pole and I took a pair of Helly Hansen thermals just in case but will never bother with synthetic base layers again. The Chocolate Fish Base Layers were really warm and hardly smelt after 20+ days of man hauling which was amazing. I have since used their new range on expedition in Greenland for a month and found them to be every bit as good as I remembered. The price does not reflect the quality as they are considerably cheaper than any other Merino base layers I have seen but are just as good if not better than the competition. Basically buy them as they are fantastic.
