Ignore Tim James. He's just trying to cast aspersions on my monkeys to make up for his paper clip shuffling lady's hands

.jpg) Well he can cast any aspersions he wants on my monkey hes a dirty little monkey. He might not be too appropriate for my profile pic either. Sorry for hijacking this post, still think the paclite trousers are rubbish though.

James, it looks like I shall just have to try looking online for an alternate supplier for the great German Goretex army trousers with braces you kindly pictured there then. Such is life I guess! Doh!!!!!!!!! A real pity though, as they look perfect for me for what I need right now!

Why don't I get wet in mine? I'm feeling a bit left out. I might take them back and demand a refund
I have a pair of Berghaus Paclite overtrousers and they work fine for me. In fact, in heavy, day-long rain, they work better than a Paclite jacket, which wets out. They work particularly well when worn over a pair of Dryflo leggings.
As for durability, they are incredibly light so clearly won't stand up to heavy abrasion. Personally, mine are still unmarked but then I don't go scrambling or climbing in them as they are simply not designed to take that kind of punishment. Every item of kit is a compromise to some extent and the low pack weight and effective waterproofing more than compensate for having to be a bit careful when wearing them. I also wear my gaiters over the Paclites to avoid gorse, scrub etc ripping the bottoms of the legs. Despite a common belief to the contrary, this does not funnel water into my boots.

I have two and soon to be 3 sets of waterproofs. I have some Paramo Men's Cascada Trousers, these are great as you dont have to mess around puttign them on adn off but they are not 100% waterproof and in really heavy downfall they do eventually let water soak through. The others I have a Berghaus, I think they are called Storm. They are made from gore tex proformance shell. They are really good and they feel alot more durable than the paclite alternatives, but heavier. My next purchase I have made is some Haglofs Argon overtrousers. They are made from Goretex pro-shell so I am hoping they will be a good weight whilst still hard wearing. I struggled to find these in this country but my local outdoors shop has ordered them in for me.

Sorry there James, did you give me their number then, I shall have to go back and re-read the start of the thread again maybe!

Hi Marc, You should go back to Paramo if your trousers leak! I have had pairs of Cascadas, Aspiras and earlier this year bought a pair of Hilltrek made to measure trousers which are made from the same stuff. None of them have leaked and I've been out in all conditions

But not paralytic with the booze of a night, I do hope though? I only ask as I saw your post name there!
