I just have to congratulate Silva for restoring my faith in the dying art of customer service!
After 18 months of service my eclipse compass developed the dreaded bubble, as it had been gift I couldn't return it to the retailer so contacted Silva to see if they would be willing to honour the warranty directly.
On Monday I received a call to tell me they couldn't offer a straight replacement as they no longer produced that model but if I went to their website I could select any other compass (with the single exception of the much dearer expedition 54).
After a bit of head scratching I was struggling to find a compass with comparable features and a similar value so emailed back yesterday morning cheekily suggesting an Expedition 4, a Ranger 3 and two pouches as an alternative.
After a quick phone call to confirm this was OK ("we just want to make sure we send you away completely happy"), I've come home from work tody to find it has all arrived!
So a big shout out to the lovely folk at Silva from a very happy customer!
