It seems like a steal, when the big name equivilents cost x2/x3 the price. I tried it on and it was pretty comfortable, only a bit stiffer than a standard fleece.

 I'd imagine it's pefectly breathable also. Sadly it didn't feature pit zips. Oh well, for £20 how can onle complain?

Neither, I'd say.  Lots of folk like windproof fleece which is why they're ready sellers after all these years, but personally I'm not a fan.  Aside from being stiffer and heavier than a shelled microfleece which is similarly windproof they take forever and a day to dry out if they do soak through (which they eventually do, leaking through the seams though the membrane itself is typically waterproof) and they're not especially breathable.

I quite like it for thin gloves on dry/cold days, but other than that I think there are often better solutions to the problems it addresses.

Something is only a bargain if you use it.  If you would, probably a bargain.  I wouldn't, my Microtherm is lighter and considerablymore breathable.
