Dont suppose it matters now but another vote for the Katadyn Hiker - easy to use and seems to pump much quicker than it implies.

My mate has a steripen but is thinking of switching cause the Hiker is so easy to use. 

Be interested to know how well that 85g US model works - the Hiker is 425 grams (ish) even though its advertised at 310g.

With the Pure Easy you won't get the output of the Hiker. I tend to get a litre from the source and then filter it in the comfort of the tent porch. The Hiker is quick enough to filter by the side of the source.

Quality of wayer seems as excellent as the Hiker. I'm tempted to try the Katadyn input line on the Pure Easy - it will fit ok - to see if it keeps the ceramic filter cleaner, but this will add grams on! 

Pros: Very light; good quality water; high degree of filterage (0.1 microns)

Cons: Small capacity on account of size; filter needs to be kept clean or pumping slows
