I have just made the jump from boots to shoes for summer use in the hills and U.K mountains.
I have bought a pair of Merrell Chameleon Evo XCR shoes which I find really quite good. However I am getting my socks wet, so am therefore looking for some gaiters to fit.
So far tha only advice I have found is to buy some gaiters for boots and chuck them on.
I would be greatful if anyone has any more creative suggestions.
...embrace your wet feet! If you get some lightweight fell-runnery kind of shoes, innov8's or whatever, the mesh upper lets water in, but it also dries off quick, and it lets water out. Sometimes, cooling yer feet off can be a very nice feeling, and you'll never have to worry about puddles, mud or bogs again which has got to be a bonus.
These Integral Designs gaiters are a good match for lined trail shoes. If you want, you can roll them up under the top of your socks and just pull them down when needed. Downside is no zips so you have to put them on before your shoes. Upside is no zips so very light.
Probably a very good choice. This is basically the short version of the Berghaus Form gaiter, the best gaiter that I have ever used. The underfoot webbing strap fits inside the gaiter so there are no external buckles to trap swathes of grass, bracken etc.
Is the Berghaus Glacier gaiter waterproof? Or just a debris gaiter? The Form gaiter is described as goretex and waterproof, whereas the Glacier gaiter doesn't mention waterproofness at all, just "great for protection from debris".

There are 2 versions of the Form gaiter - "polyester" (£30) and Goretex (£60). The Glacier has an RRP of £20 so I don't mind betting it's made of the former.
Although not Gore-tex, the "polyester" material is durable, breathable and seems to be pretty waterproof, in my experience.
