I'm thinking of getting one of these jackets.

Anybody know if RAB has sorted the
problems with the hood that members
has had in the 3 reviews? I see the
current price is £95 which may
indicate the jacket has changed in
design!
thanks

I have one and must admit I havent suffered any problems with the hood on mine it attaches to the back of the jacket with 2 press studs to keep out of the way and even fits over a helmet which is great on windy belays. I brought mine last summer in the sales so is prob an older version than the current one.

Not too sure about the current model but I can confirm that after prolonged useage I have ripped the microfleece lining in the hood and the plastic strip that stiffens the peak needed to be replaced because the wire element was sticking through the fabric.

Not a good advert you may think? Well you're wrong because the jacket was sent back up to Rab and they fixed it. Not free of charge, but then it was my fault for ripping the microfleece.

On the subject of the hood; it now stays permanently unpoppered and hanging loose because I can see no justifiable reason for doing otherwise.

Hood issue apart, this is a superb bit of a kit that I would recommend with a full five stars.

If you have tried one for size and you happy with it then order on-line from

www.upandunder.co.uk

There prices are slighly cheaper than the RRP.
