After about 3 hours trying to get Memory Map 2004 running on my newly upgraded [and that's a story in itself] Windows 7, I gave up and contacted the company.

Several days later, I got a brief-to-the-point-of-snotty email from them saying they don't support this map under W7.

Don't know if newer version will run in W7, but it's worth checking before you commit yourself.

Or don't install W7.

I will check to see what version I am running on win7, did you try installing and running as administrator and xp mode?

have seen hacks to get older maps working on newer versions of MMnav, but thats naughty.

I'm running mine on win7 without any problems but I think it might be  a 2005 version.  I've sent you a message.

If your existing Memory map software is genuine, why not upgrade to the latest european edition for free , available from the memory map website ?

I didnt think you could use 2004 maps with V5, could be wrong though.

Well I don't know what's different about the maps from 2004 and before, but I'm running the European edition, upgraded from V5 and I have  a Sh*t load of maps from previous editions and they all run fine .

Initially I bought Scotland area 6 MM and was given a load of 1:25k maps from a friend , installed them and I've had no bother at all .

Maybe they are newer than 2004 ?  They are all .qct files
