Been hunting for child carriers recently, so have to mention a couple of really helpful shops i've come across and ordered from.

www.cozymole.co.uk Cozymole specialises in childs outdoor gear. Really helpful post sales advice and support, plus they got my order out quickly and no hassle with returning it when i needed to.

www.littleadventureshop.co.uk - Little Adventure shop, same sort of thing as cozymole. I never ordered from them but after sending them an email enquiring about a product, i got a phone call five mins later from a very helpful woman who explained a lot about the various child carriers and their pro's and cons.

Recommend both for kids outdoor stuff !

Second Alpkit, especially for their free postage. I like Backpackinglight too, for their back up calls and the sweeties. Free postage would be better though.

For surplus, Endicotts is fantastic (excellent personal service) , and another vote for Alpkit - free delivery, good kit and good prices.

Ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk just replaced my GoLite Jam 2 no quibbles, despite it being more than a year old, after ongoing problems finally ended with one strap pulling loose at the bottom. The new one seems to address both the main harness issues, and the chest strap (which I never liked), so a good result all round.

Obviously www.backjpackinglight.co.uk has to get a mention.

Outdoorwarehouse too. Based in Windermere but also online. Very easy to find if you search for it.

For dehydrated food try outdoorsgrub.co.uk (or something similar).

BTW I have ordered from BPL-UK a few times always with excellent service. I have ordered then needed to add to the order last minute a few times. All I did was call them and they added it into the shipment even though it had already been boxed up fro shipping. The last shipment went from my online order at 1pm one day to my workplace delivery at 10am the next. Which was very important as I was going on hols at the end of that day and needed it for my trip. Plus the sweeties are a very good bribe to buy more. Works on me.

Outdoorsgrub also give freebies, usually a club biscuit. Does anyone else open them carefully, remove the chocolate bar then return the packaging to its un-opened state but with nothing in then leave it on the side for others to nick knowing I'd have the last laugh. Sorry, I'm a big kid I know, but we can't all grow up or it'd be a dull place.
