What's the best way to dry out a hydration bladder so you can get all the water to evaporate out of there and the drinking tube?

that's not a bad idea! I think I could dry the main bladder with some trouble but the tube would be a pain. I hate the taste of stale water. might give the freezer a go.

tie the middle up so it keeps the bladder agape.

I hang mine out on the washing line in a windy day, works a treat.

I've slung it in the freezer now. I don't think there was any hope of getting all the water out the tubes so probably the best option.

Nope, no brothers just a couple of sisters. If he's called imperial though he can't be a bad bloke

Camelbak make a plastic hanger-type gadget that lets you hang the bladder while keeping the sides apart but it's expensive - you can make your own from a wire coat hanger.

Other methods include bunging the spoon ends of 3 wooden spoons into the filler hole and then separating them to form a tripod or putting some of those hollow, ventilated plastic balls into the bladder to keep the sides apart while it dries.

I have a Source Widepak so I simply hang it off the dining table while it dries - the tube disconnects and I hang that up alongside to drain.  Never had any problems.

i've tried a few ways but find letting it dry for a while on the drainer and then freezing is by far the best.

I have a source too...open it out and drain it to get as much of the water drained.  Fiddle around with the tube/bite valve in similar way, so there is a minimum standing water in both parts, then freezer for it!

Takes longer to clean my thermos....but thats a different story

Best way I find is fill it with plastic practice golf balls (the one with holes in ) 50p for a pack of 6 from Tesco and hang it up

other good tips - soak in Miltons sterilising fluid for 10  mins once in a while to give it a proper clean.

 Jobs a good un!

I rinse mine out with diluted milton (to the strength recommended for baby bottles) and then just leave hung up.  Its dries out much faster than water alone and leaves no taste.

I put mine on a clean plastic bottle so the air can get in, but I've not had it long enough to cause any problems.

I take the drinking tube off the outside and doublei t up in my hand and push it into the bladder and hang up to dry.

I find this keeps the bladder open enough for drying.
