Can anyone comment on Snowpeak versus Evernew ti cook sets?
They both look good quality, the Evernew perhaps maginally lighter with insulated handles, but the Snowpeak have nice fry pan lids which is a good versatile design.
I currently have an Alpkit ti mug and an AntiGravityGear aluminum pan with cosy; what I need is a pan set (flat style, not mug style), where one pan fits neatly inside the other.
Evernew are also more expensive. I don't mind that if you're clearly paying for better quality but I'm not sure that's the case.
Can't comment on which is better but my experience of Snowpeak is it is all quality gear. So unless it's a design issue; which handle, different capacity, shape, etc. the Snowpeak would be fine (at least on a quality front).
I don't know how the snowpeak compare to evernew but if the Snowpeak multi compact cook set
is the sort of thing you're after, I have a hardly used one I would sell for £40 incl postage.
I don't think you would really get the lids to be useable as frypans without burning - but that goes for any thin ti because of the hotspots it generates, but the lids make usable plates/bowls.
I would say there is no difference in quality between Evernew and Snowpeak, both are excellent and probably the best on the market.
However, i've never regarded Snowpeak as the lightest but in respect of Evernew, you'd struggle to get lighter.
From what i've seen Evernew and Snowpeak are very much the same price when comparing similar pans, and tend to be more expensive than most (but they will last and you pay for quality). BPL UK has some information on the manufacturing process of Evernew using the cold press method, i'm sure i read somewhere that Snowpeak use the same process.
I would go for either set that fits your cooking needs the most, unless your want as light as possible, in which case Evernew.
I have the Solo, which doesn't have markings on the large pot, which is a shame. The lid handle is also not a good as the Evernew. In my mind was the comparison of the large pot of the Solo and the equivalent Evernew. The small "cup" of the Solo does have markings but I don't like it as a cup and don't take it with me. I use an MSR mug instead (also no markings!).
