I'm thinking about summer and replacing an old hoodless pertex smock with a hoodless pertex jacket. The Montane Slipstream, relative to a Montane Litespeed, how does the torso length (front and tail), arm-length, compare.
I can handle a slightly narrower chest but not much else.
I hardly use the hood in drier months due to using a Buff.
"the Slipstream Jacket has the same cut as the Slipstream Gilet."
Which is quite a few inches less in the chest. I think the Slipstream assumes baselayer and the Litespeed assumes fleece mid-layer in the relative chest sizing.
I have a Slipstream gilet which is definately for wearing over a thin baselayer. Got if for £20, or nearabouts.
I have a Litespeed which can be worn with a fleece and baselayer. I'm size Large, 6'2".
The Slipstream gilet weighs next to nothing and is great for those days when you want a bit of wind protection but don't need your arms covered. I take it and a Lightspeed, as well as a waterproof.
I'm not sure about a Slipstream jacket - think I'd prefer the cut of a Lightspeed.
well I'm borderline on the Slipstream medium, between the armpits when I'm fitter the chest grows and quite tight. I might go large on Slipstream jacket....
The Slipstream gilet, has proved to be a just-right in a situation a jacket is too-warm, and yes its tiny, cycling I can place the gilet in one rear pockets and some arm-warmers in another rear pocket and that is all I need for when its about 60F. It does flap a little too much around the shoulders, a little elastication there would help.
