I am looking for a weekends tent, not backpacking or wild camping I have a Vaude for that which is fine, but when staying at campsites for a weekend its cramped. I need a larger tent with room for two, but if away by myself it needs to be easy to pitch by myself. Lots of nice tents out there but tricky if not impossible to pitch by one lonesome person? Suggestions anyone? Maybe up to £100 or second hand.
Vango Halo, or a Shadow 200+ if you can get hold of one. I have the latter and have found it a great tent for basecamping (there's a review on here somewhere). Loads of room for 1 but I've never tried it with two so you might want to see it in the flesh first.

pop up tent?
I think you'd be surprised at what one person is able to pitch. If it's for car camping it couls be pretty large if you so wish - just takes longer and more foward thinking needed the larger it is.
I manage to pitch our Outwell Hartford L fine alone. (the old inner pitch first version too - the new type is much easier)
I have a 3 man Vango Equinnox which I use for week long winter camping trips, and as it proves pretty awkward to dry out in winter I decided to go for a smaller tent for the one or two nighters. A friend said I could try out his Vaude Taurus to see if I liked it as he wanted to sell it. I took it to a site near the bottom of Snowdon in the January and during the night the weather went wild, wind, rain and snow - the lot. The back of the tent kept flattening and I felt I had to get out quite often to check the guys for peace of mind. I noticed not to far away a small Coleman Xponent just as steady as a rock and there and then I decided that was the one for me. I bought it that same week, its a doddle to put up, the specs are great, I think I paid £90 for it and it has never let me down. The colour is a bit gaudy but I decided that if I got used to wearing an orange waterproof then I would get used to this. I camp regularly in the winter, mainly the Lakes and Wales, and I would recommend this tent to anyone. I have the 2 manner which I feel would be a little small for two, unless you are close friends or hoping to become close friends! The three man might just fit your bill. Hope this has helped.
